Chicaaaago!

Last weekend, Clark and went away for a fun weekend in Chicago. A while ago, Clark had mentioned that he really wanted to see Dave Matthews Band in concert so I tracked him down in Chicago and we headed that way. While Dave was headlining a 3 day festival, we decided to just go for one day. We saw O.A.R. and Ray LaMontange before the DMB performed. They put on a great show and the people watching was outstanding!

We also did the architectural boat tour (which was fabulous) and ate at Gino's East for some deep dish!

On Saturday, we headed to Frontera Grill for a fabulous brunch! The food was so good and I had the best mojito ever! After that, we walked back towards our hotel and around the area. It was gorgeous all weekend and it was so nice to be away from the 100 degree heat.

Saturday afternoon we went to The Cedar Hotel and had afternoon cocktails and a lite snack. We met my cousins Karee and her husband Loren, along with Aaron. We sat outside for a while before deciding we should make our way to dinner. Finally around 9, we were seated at Rosebud for a late meal. Dinner was amazing. I really can't think of enough adjectives to describe how good my pasta was. Just hit shift F7 for the word AMAZING. Karee also let us in on some exciting news that she is expecting this January! We are so excited for the Jones Family!

Thanks to my wonderful mom for watching our sweet baby for the weekend. She had the best time being spoiled by her Granny!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Signed our name at Ginos.

I also need to thank everyone for the great recommendations while we were there (Lecie, Sarah, Joseph, Hannah and Karee)!

Sweet sleeper

Harper was too tired to even let me put her sleep sack on last night. When I went to cover her up, once it cooled down, this is what I found. Note the crossed legs ;)

Bow-tiful!

Harper loves her bows and playing with them is one of her favorite pastimes!

Isn't this outfit the cutest! The Parker Family sent it for her birthday and thought it would be perfect for TCU games! We just couldn't wait until September!

Catch Up

May has been a super busy month both at work and at home. We went to San Antonio to see my family the first weekend and then I spent 16 hours in Vegas to see my sweet friend Lindsey get married. Her wedding was beautiful and so much fun! I just spent 5 days in Atlanta for a work conference and just got back and hit the ground running. I am so looking forward to this weekend because I have 4 days off and I can finally relax a little bit!

Here are some pictures that Clark snapped of Harper last weekend while I was out celebrating Stacey's upcoming wedding! We spent the day at the pool, had a great dinner at Reata and then went to see Bridesmaids (loved it).
We got Harper a water table for her birthday back in March and we finally broke it out!
Her pool and table.
So much fun!

Bon Appetit!

Last Friday night, we went over to the McMillan's for a fun Julia Child's themed dinner party. Each of us was tasked with bringing a dish that complemented Julia's style of cooking. Clark and I brought her signature ceasar salad and I thought it turned out pretty well.

Larkin did an outstanding job with the decor. She had a tables arranged in a square and sat different patterns of china all around it. Every other chair was adorned with a white apron for the ladies and a chef hat for the guys. It was a great night spent with friends.

Easter was wonderful. The A/C at our Church went out the night before because of the horrible wind we had. Luckily the head of facilities for TCU is a member and they were able to pull some strings and relocate us into the ballroom. That also meant no child care. All was good though, harper loved the singing and talking during prayer. I took her out to the lobby about halfway through the sermon to run around and play. After church we went to Lambert's for brunch! It was a great day!

Not the best but after 10 takes with the self timer, we gave up

Early Easter Fun!

Today we took Harper to the TCU Easter egg hunt. We have had wonderful weather this entire weekend and it was so nice to get outside and do something as a family. I was pretty sure that Harper would have no idea what was going on but much to my surprise, as soon as they sounded the air horn, she thought about it for a second and then was off, putting eggs in her basket one by one. Then once she was happy with her selection of eggs, she sat down and began to play with her colorful findings. And her dad ate all her candy.

Costumes make me happy!

Yay! For those that know me well, you know I love a good theme party and you know I have a costume box for such occasions. Thank goodness that Ben was turning 30 and that his lovely wife Abbi decided on an 80's bash.

The guys. Who is that guy in the leotard??

I also wanted to give credit to Sabrina Gebhardt Photography for the amazing family pictures she took last weekend. I will post more of those this weekend but she took the new blog photo at the top of the page.
