My Husband the Handy Man

Who knew that Clark could be so handy? After talking about it for a year or so, Clark and I finally put shelving in the dining room closet. Our house was built in 1946 and used to be one story. The dining room was at one point the sole bedroom and thus has a great closet. Unfortunately, before last weekend, there was not a lot of storage in the closet and it became a messy catchall of randomness. We went to Home Depot after church on Sunday and picked out the wire units and shelve/drawer combos that we wanted and brought them home to install.

Clark worked all afternoon to get it perfect and when I got home it was complete. We were able to clean out kitchen cabinets and the pantry in order to free up space for baby goods. I don't brag on Clark enough and I just wanted to take the opportunity to do so. He has been so patient and helpful in seeing out my "visions" for the house before baby arrives :)Below is the finished product!
On Saturday, our friends Jen and Harrison came in town to have lunch with us. We went to Tillmans Roadhouse and all 4 split the "Hangover Platter." No, I was not hungover but it was delicious. Harrison was upset that he has yet to make the blog (the fact that I haven't seen him in over a year should provide a pretty good excuse). Anyway, here he is posing with Bailey. She loves him.

Happy Monday to everyone. I hope you all have a great week!

32 Weeks!!!

Time flies. Baby Rucker is now 32 weeks gestation and growing every minute. I love the updates I get letting me know how big she is and how much she has grown each week. This week, she is the size of a honeydew, weighs roughly 4.5lbs and is about 19 inches long. That is looking more and more like a baby to me, and feeling like it too. She is moving constantly and its hard to focus when she is throwing elbows or jumping on my bladder. Overall though, I am really feeling great. I had a nasty cold last week but now that that has subsided, things are looking up. I go back to the doctor next week and then at 35 weeks. Then I start going weekly. Fun times. I have never looked forward to going to the doctor until I was pregnant. Now I love it!

I can't believe it. According to my due date, I have 7 weeks 5 days to go which is pretty much insane and I am in full fledged baby nesting mode. I have been going through closets and trying to get rid of "stuff" that we have accumulated over the years. I have always had a sentimental attachment to inanimate objects and now its time to just get rid of everything, well not everything but definitely things that we don't need or use. This weekend I am going to clean out our office and organize our files and such. I am also heading to the container store to hopefully find some shelving and storage options for the closet in our dining room. Here are some pictures of the bump.

Last weekend we went to Austin breifly for a wedding on Saturday night. We stayed with our good friends, and newlyweds, the Papermasters and had a great time. Here are a couple of pictures from the wedding. It was at the Driskill and they had the most beautiful sushi bar. Too bad I couldn't eat any of it :(

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend!

Weekly Recap

Happy New Year to all! After a low key evening, we went over to our friend Brandon's to ring in the new year with all of our closest friends.Since we were leaving for Scottsdale at 9 the next morning, we made it to midnight and then headed to bed!

I can't believe it's 2010. And I can't believe that in 2 months Clark and I are going to have a daughter. It's hard to believe but so exciting at the same time. I went to the doctor this morning and she said that I am measuring ahead. I think that means that I am looking at a big baby. Yay for big babies...

Here are a couple of pictures from New Years Eve.

On the Wednesday before NYE, we went to Mi Cocina to celebrate Haddy's Birthday since it is on Christmas Eve. As usual, she was sung to by the wait staff complete with sweet napkin/party hat.

We got to Scottsdale around noon so we had plenty of time to explore and get settled. The whole Phoenix/Scottsdale/Glendale area is very spread out so we really only kept to the main area the whole time. We had such a great weekend with our friends. Clark and Ryan played golf Saturday at Troon North and Sunday at the Phoenician. Lisa and I went to the spa on Saturday for my birthday :) We ate at The Tortilla Factory on Friday night and then we ate at Bobby's on Saturday night. Sunday, Michele and Lindsay came in town so we met up with them and went to Oregano's for lunch. When our waiter greeted us, I kept staring at him because he looked really familiar. Once he left the table, Lindsay agreed that she knew him from somewhere too. After some super sleuthing and some help from Wikipedia, we discovered that he was Alex from the Real World Denver! Another thing about Oreganos, the pizza cookie! OMG, amazing. Sarah, Alli and Brooke all recommended that we go to Oreganos and I was told consistently that the pizza cookie was a must. It was a semi cooked peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie, straight out of the oven and covered in ice cream. A pregnant lady's dream.

The girls at Oreganos, see pizza cookie remains (or lack there of) on the table.

On Monday morning, we went to The Breakfast Club to have Brunch for my birthday. I was so excited because on the menu they have jalapeno and cheese biscuits with sausage gravy. I was However, I was sad to learn that they were out of the biscuits because of the popularity among TCU fans that morning. Very sad but I was still not disappointed in my meal.

Next up, was the game. Here are pics of us tailgating and in the stadium. After the devastating loss, we turned to In and Out Burger to console us. Despite the loss, Scottsdale was a lot of fun and we enjoyed being in Arizona with our friends!

Clark's first bite of In and Out Burger! He loved it.
Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
